Staying at the Okaihau Rail Stay, in ex-railway carriages, is definitely worth the stopover. They're lovely hosts too!

2nd tip! Take plenty of water on this, the 'boardwalk section' of the Twin Coast Cycle Trail, as there aren't many places to refill.
